Jiangsu Medical Device Technology Industrial Park is a national-level medical device technology industrial park jointly established by Su Gaoxin Group, Suzhou Science and Technology City Management Committee and Suzhou Overseas Students Pioneering Park. It is located in the beautiful Suzhou Science and Technology City. The industrial park started construction in 2009, was approved as a national torch characteristic industrial base in 2011, was included in the national innovative industrial cluster pilot by the Ministry of Science and Technology in the same year, and was recognized as a national-level technology enterprise incubator in 2013. It was approved for construction in Jiangsu in 2015 Provincial Medical Device Industry Technology Innovation Center. The total plan covers an area of about 2 square kilometers, with a carrier area of 460,000 square meters. It is divided into a southern scientific research and innovation zone, an authoritative testing and evaluation institution zone, a comprehensive supporting zone, and a northern medical device accelerator.
The carrier in the southern zone of the industrial park mainly develops industrial directions such as diagnostic reagents and medical materials, while the northern zone focuses on the production of medical imaging, medical optics, high-value consumables, hospital operating room equipment and other products, as well as R & D, office, incubation and other functions. The North District Medical Device Accelerator covers an area of 143 acres, with a total construction area of about 284,000 square meters and a total investment of 1.8 billion yuan. It is self-built by Jiangsu Medical Device Industrial Park and includes high-rise office buildings, medical device standard workshops and service supporting facilities. The project has been approved as a key project in Suzhou and is expected to be officially put into use in early 2020. The project is positioned as an international medical device science and technology park, creating a medical device innovation ecosystem, mainly for domestic and foreign companies, innovative enterprises, and leaders in the field of medical device subdivision.
For ten years, the industrial park has been developing at a high speed. As of 2018, it has included listed companies such as Yuyue Medical, Zhongsheng Beijing Enterprises, Hengrui Medical, Lepu Medical, and Meikang Biological, as well as ResMed and Morgan New Materials. More than 200 companies including Kavakol, Fuji Imaging, Thermo Fisher, and other international companies gathered. The products cover many fields such as medical imaging, biomedical materials, in vitro diagnostics, and medical robots.
